What can I say except that it was a busy and hot Spring and Summer.  I haven't had any time to make any cards:(  I started a RN program in May and have been super busy with that.  Now that fall is here my sister who is the Creative Memories Demostrator is hosting a Saturday Scrap & Craft workshop the 2nd Saturday of each Month in Adams, MN.  I am hoping to get some cards done at workshop but I also have a lot of scrapbooking to catch up on and jeans to cut for rugs.  We will see how well I do.  The 1st Workshop is next Saturday as we had a family wedding last Saturday.  Maybe I will be able to post something after that workshop.  Happy Fall everyone!!!!

OWH Midweek Throwdown

Greetings!!!  It is going to be close to 80 degrees today in NE Iowa.  I was on the OWH Stars and Stripes blog when I saw that they wanted Missing You Cards.  I had done 3 different ones over the weekend.  So if you scroll through Sunday you will find them along with other cards that I shipped on monday.  Thanks in advance for good (or bad or ideas to better the cards) comments you leave me.

Spring ahead

I don't know about everyone else but I hate the time change.  I wish they would leave it on one time year round and be done with it.  So I decided I needed to get a box of cards off to OWH.  It was a year ago that I sent my first box. Since I work full time and commute (one way) a hour I don't have a lot of time to work on cards and only get one box done a year.  I am not happy about this but what to do?  I was hoping this winter I would get stuck at home but our winter was really mild here in North Iowa.  I always have a lot to do and not enough time to get it all done.  Here are some cards that are in my box to go out tomorrow.  I had some Easter cards to send but missed that deadline so my goal for next year is to get my cards all done earlier.  As you will see below I like quick and simple cards.  I am not happy with all the cards but I do think they turned out pretty good.

OWH Sketch Challenge #105

So I had some down time today and decided to work backwards on OWH sketches.  I did #105.  I have 175 cards ready to be packed up and shipped.  Would like to do a few more as I think I still have room left in the box!!!  I like to use my money wisely.  If I get more done that is ok to as I can add them to the next box.  I have the day off tomorrow and it is supposed to be 40 degrees (in IOWA), Amazing.  Will have the house windows open and do a little "Spring" cleaning.  So here is my sketch #105.  The stamp came from the $ bin at Michaels, the paper is from Hobby Lobby, and the ink for the stamp is Old Olive from Stampin Up.  Enjoy.

OWH Sketch Challenge #106

Here is my version of #106, maybe this will also work for the Glitter Free Bling Challenge as well?  The brad, blue star, red/white stripped, and Bandana paper is from Hobby Lobby "The Paper Studio".  The stamp is a clear stamp from Fiskars.  This can be used as an Any Hero Card or for a soldier to write home on.  Sometimes I think it might be fun for them to write home on Red, White and Blue cards. The Not Quite Navy ink is from Stampin Up.

OWH Color Challenge

I decided to do a Valentine's Day card since it so close.  I used Black and white paper from Creative Memories, I used the heart cuttlebug template on my Sizzix texture boutique.  The stamp was on that I had gotten from a friend.  The ribbon was from the $ section at Target.  The red in the ribbon and the paper don't match here but they do in person.
